Walking

The southern end of the Pennine way at Edale, moorland walking on Derwent Edge, Holme Moss, Bleaklow. Limestone walking through Monsal Dale, Chee dale, Padley Gorge and ridge walking from Lose Hill to Mam Tor.

Climbing

Major gritstone edges e.g. Stanage, Curbar, Millstone, Burbage Valley crags plus best of the gritstone bouldering. Major Limestone areas of the Peak District - Chee Dale (Wye Valley) and Stoney Middleton. Bolted limestone at Horseshoe Quarry.

Cycling

Round the Derwent, Howden and Ladybower reservoirs plus backroads and bridleways, including challenging moorland routes.

Longshaw Estate (National Trust)

History

Castleton (Peveril Castle), Eyam (Plague village), Iron age hill forts at Mam Tor and Carl Wark, Bronze age stone circles, quarrying of millstones.

Scenery

Wild moorland, limestone dales, attractive and interesting towns and villages.
