This area of the Park is one of contrasts, from rolling farmland scenery to wild and remote moorland. The main towns of the area are Bamford, Baslow, Curbar, and Hathersage with easy access to the city life of Sheffield. The area also gives easy access to the Hope Valley, including the show caves of Castleton and a wide range of outdoors activities.  Holmfirth (of Last of the Summer Wine TV fame) and Stocksbridge are nearby.
