Moresbey Hall Lake District

Kirkby Stephen (East Lakes) East Cumbria - Blandswath Cottage (sleeps 6). This spacious cottage enjoys a tranquil position on the banks of the River Eden. It is situated within 100 acres of the owner's land, around which visitors are free to roam. It is an excellent base for walking the Eden Valley, the Pennine Hills and the Yorkshire Dales. Within the nearby area there is free fishing available on the river, a golf course and riding facilities.Just two miles away is Kirkby Stephen which provides everyday shops and dining facilities. The old town of Sedbergh, with interesting shops and restaurants along its narrow cobbled streets, is also easily accessed along a very scenic route. Whilst being located in the fertile and attractive West Lancashire countryside the cottages provide a base to explore Southport, Blackpool, Preston, Liverpool, Manchester, the Lake District and the North Wales coastal resorts, which are all easily accessible from the farm. The nearby ancient market town of Ormskirk, which has a twice weekly street market, is only 4 miles away.Many original features have been preserved in the development of the cottages and they share a large garden with a play area for children and barbecue facilities.For the wildlife enthusiast, there is the Wildfowl amd Wetlands Centre at Martin Mere (2 miles) and for the sportsman, there is golf, fishing, windsurfing, squash, badminton, and swimming, all available locally.

Kendal South Lakes - The Stable (sleeps 2), Knott Farm. A 17th century Lakeland hill farm with magnificent views from the sea to the highest point in England. The farm is situated at the foot of the beautiful Kentmere valley between the county town of Kendal and Lake Windermere. The four cottages are traditionally constructed in stone and slate, each with its own garden and private parking. Decor is traditional, with rustic beams, full carpeting and comfortable furniture each with central heating, either oil or fired or electric storage. The farm has its own private water supply which is fed from a spring up on the fell. The water is beautiful and is tested by the local authority. The farm is 1 mile outside the village of Staveley with its shops, pubs, church, railway station and bus routes. Windermere the largest of the lakes and Kendal the county town are each only 5 miles away. The situation is ideal for walking, cycling, relaxing, or as a touring centre for the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, and the Border country.

Keswick North Lakes - The Hayloft (sleeps 4). This flat is set on a working farm where poultry and animals can be seen all around. There are also plenty of ducks that enjoy being fed! The farm house is beautifully situated, tucked under the fell with a beck in front of it. Herons are to be seen in the valley and Kingfishers have recently returned. The owners have established a lot of new woodland, much of it is oak and beech as well as Christmas trees and beautiful larches.The flat has been converted from the old hayloft.
