Self Catering Cottages

Comfortable cottages of great character, situated in an area of beauty and tranquillity, close to Dove Dale, the village of Hartington and in Hartington itself. The area is a great base for exploring the Peak District on foot, by bike or car.

Our cottages have been renovated with care and attention to detail, for example, Cruck cottage was built in the 15th century and retains the impressive cruck beam that  extends from floor to ceiling. Some of our cottages feature wood burning stoves, spa/whirlpool bathrooms and dishwashers to make your stay even more relaxing. Cleanliness and comfort mean that many of our visitors return year after year. We have a Farm Trail and, if you have a family, your children are welcome to help to look after our pets Flopsie the rabbit, Ben the sheepdog, Tilly the cat and the others!

 

Cruck Cottage sleeps 4 - There is a most impressive oak beam, the cruck beam, which extends from floor to ceiling throughout the cottage.

The wonderful cruck beam features above the double antique pine bedroom and the lounge. The lounge/ dining/ kitchen is centrally placed on the ground floor with large characterful beam throughout. There is a separate twin bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor. Enclosed area / patio and parking for two cars.

Tom Boys Cottage sleeps 4 with the option of accommodating 6 using a sofa bed.

There is a double bedded room with pine bed and antique oak furnishings plus a twin room with dried flowers to complement the decor.

The bathroom is on the same floor and has a spa bath, power shower, wash basin and toilet.

The spacious lounge kitchen is upstairs and has a fine wooden floor, traditional stone fireplace, occasional wool rugs and a large comfortable sofa that converts to a double bed.

Wolfscote Cottage sleeps 4 and comprises one double bedroom and one additional bedroom with adult bunkbeds. There is a shower room with toilet and hand basin.

The lounge/ kitchen/ dining area is beautifully furnished with particularly comfortable two and three seater sofas. There is an antique fireplace and lovely furnishings throughout.

Swallows Return Cottage sleeps 6/7 in two double rooms (one en-suite) and one twin room. There is an additional spa/bathroom.

The cottage is entered via a main flagged hall off which are beamed bedrooms.
One bedroom has a double brass bed and lovely antique furniture plus a relaxing rocking chair. The second bedroom has two singles and the third is a king-sized en-suite and is situated on the first floor. The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a spa/whirlpool bath and power shower, hand basin and toilet.


The stairs lead to the first floor and the splendid and very spacious kitchen dining and lounge area. This has a pine wooden floor, timber doors and occasional rugs which complement the full vaulted ceiling with original beams and the large stone fireplace

Graces Cottage sleeps 4 in one double and one twin bedded room. The cottage is situated in the pretty village of Hartington with duck pond, shops, pubs and a Stilton Cheese factory nearby.

The bedrooms are on the ground floor, one with a double brass bed and the second having two single beds. The stairs lead to the open plan dining kitchen/ lounge area and there is a shower room with exposed beams. A patio area at the rear of the cottage has sitting and views of open fields to the rear.

Facilities: Duvet linen provided, central heating, electric cooker, microwave, fridge, colour TV, video, cot high chair available, parking, garden chairs.
