Tucked away off the Clatterway, the steep road that leads into Bonsall, one of the real gems of the Peak District.

The gardens date from the 18th century and surround the ruins of an old corn mill. The gardens cover an area of 4 acres and Bonsall Brook flows through, over the ruins of the mill, creating the cascades that give the gardens their name.

The gardens are set on many levels and surrounded by mature trees and high cliffs. They have been planted with great care to ensure colour and interest whatever the season. There are distinct areas, each with their own character e.g the Glebe with its early season wild flowers and stunning views over the Derbyshire countryside to Black Rocks.

Cascades Gardens is much more than just another Peak District tourist attraction, each Sunday, the gardens are open to raise money to aid Tibetans - a fantastic cause given what the Chinese have done to that country.
